Combating Food Insecurity Through Local Food and School Gardens
We’re proud to be featured by Food First for our work building healthier, more equitable food systems in Mississippi.
Through our Farm to School and Farm to Early Childhood Education programs, we connect schools and early childhood centers with local farmers to increase access to nutritious, locally grown food. We teach kids where their food comes from, how to grow it themselves, and encourage them to enjoy fresh produce. By doing this, we strengthen Mississippi’s agricultural economy, address food insecurity in our communities, and build healthier, more resilient local food systems.
Our work depends on strong partnerships. Together, we’re creating lasting change by empowering communities, supporting farmers, and inspiring youth across Mississippi to grow healthy habits and understand the power of locally grown food.
